Solid Phase Extraction

Solid phase extraction or SPE is a sample clean-up technique used to “clean-up” and or concentrate samples prior to analysis.  SPE is one of the most powerful techniques available for rapid and selective sample preparation prior to analysis by advanced analytical instrumentation such as LC or GC\MS.  SPE protects expensive analytical instrument, improves qualitative and quantitative analysis, and by changing an analyte of interest’s original matrix environment to a simpler matrix more suitable for subsequent analysis, the demand placed on an analytical instrument is considerably lessened.

Caliper offers a wide range of automation for SPE in a 96 well plate with a goal of improved reliability, ease-of-use, and streamline the sample preparation process.  Caliper also offers automation to allow you to take your sample from tube-to-plate, and then perform you sample clean-up technique.

Caliper’s Zephyr SPE Workstation helps to reduce SPE bottlenecks, so that your lab can realize the full benefits of today's powerful -and costly-analytical instruments. The Zephyr SPE Workstation is the perfect complement to high-speed analytical techniques, a powerful high throughput workstation dedicated specifically to SPE bioextraction.  A single Zephyr SPE Workstation can process a full 96 well plate in 20-40 minutes, depending on the steps of the SPE method.  The Zephyr SPE Workstation is designed for low volume SPE on a variety of samples and are in use in the fields of Drugs of Abuse Testing facilities, CROs, Clinical Labs, and Pharmaceutical /biotech companies.
