GPCRFunctional™ Label Free Services
Label free cell based assays provide an especially attractive representation of GPCR drug pharmacology in a biologically-relevant context. Each G protein class has a characteristic kinetic label free response. This allows for GPCR deorphanization studies and for the delineation of multiple signal transduction pathways originating from a single GPCR.

Key applications of the technology are the possibility to quickly:
- Identify potential off-target effects in the context of the whole cell
- Uncover new possible targets for your agonist and antagonist compounds
- Identify precisely your drugs mode(s) of action that second messenger assays may miss (e.g. inverse agonist or partial agonist modes, multiple signaling pathways, etc)
- Develop more complete drug-target SAR information following GPCR binding studies
GPCRFunctional™ Label Free AD
CDAS is currently developing label-free assays using recombinant GPCR cell lines. All our assays are developed in 384-well plate format to facilitate High Throughput Screening applications.
Custom Assay Development
CDAS can assist you with the development of any GPCR label free assay in the desired conditions of:
- Cell environment using recombinant cells or native cell background (disease relevant cell lines, primary cells…)
- GPCR expression: endogenous or overexpression

GPCRFunctional™ Label Free HTS
CDAS uses the SRU BIND® Instrument, which is capable of reading 96-, 384-, and 1536-well plate formats. As such, we can accommodate low, medium, high throughput campaigns facilitating the outsourcing of your primary and secondary campaigns.

- All assays developed in a 384 plate format
- Easily adaptable to HTS conditions
- A dedicated platform for compound library screening
- Storage of very large collections of compounds
- Multi-year expertise in drug screening with flexible customized screening conditions
Technology Platform
The key features and benefits of the SRU BIND® label-free technology include:
- No dye is added to ligands or antibodies, greatly reduces artifacts and false results
- Measures the holistic cellular morphological response rather than a single element (Ca, cAMP, etc)
- Can detect multiple signaling pathways
- Is compatible with recombinant or endogenous receptor expression, including primary cells
- Is compatible with adherent or suspension cells
- A “universal” platform for all GPCR types
